Well, in my opinion, Glee has SUCCESSFULLY added dream sequences to their long list of acceptable musical moments. I thought this episode was well put together and brought in some fabulous moments. I actually cried during Rachel's final performance. It really hit home. And FINALLY getting to see more of Britney (S. Pierce)'s vocal and dancing abilities... just wow... And she CERTAINLY brought in some juicy new one-liners.

I'm not as enthusiastic as you are... Lol Amongst friends of mine who watch Glee, the problem we have the with show sometimes is that we feel some songs as featured for the sake of being part of the show - as opposed to being integrated as being supportive on a plotline... For most of the episode there really was little plot. Compared to the structure and storytelling of the premiere episode, this episode wasn't as good.
I thought season one was very unique in its storytelling and music placement, as well as the display of the talent available from within the cast. I am not yet feeling that this season. Though, I do believe that Tuesday night's episode was much more in line with the way that they told a story last season. In addition, my personal guage was affected. I did not cry at all during the first episode this season. Tuesday night, I shed tears. Still a little weak. Like the season premiere, I once again felt that they were sacrificing quality to appeal to a younger audience. Maybe the songs are too new and do not yet resonate with me as do older songs but Billionaire and that Jay Z song felt out of place. While I felt that again with this episode, I did believe that it was on track. It was nice to see Artie's interpretation of a song associated with the female perspective. I am not so sure that the dream sequences worked to further the overall storyline, the numbers were well produced and the choreography well executed. As Patrick noted, the development of cherrio Britney was a treat. There were some choice tidbits and the reason she was cast in the first place was made very clear in her execution. I had hoped for something from Kurt, maybe Womanizer? What about Mercedes? And, yes, the final number brought it all together including Will's storyline regarding his relationship with Emma. Does anyone know what that song was called? I do not remember ever hearing it before. Please let me know. Thanks. Ok, so next week...no special guest star, no special theme. Can the show stand up to the integrity of last season or will it tumble slowly on its way down?
The only thing i didnt like about the Britney episode was Lea Michelle's version of "HIt me baby one more time". Its almost as if she cant just casually sing a song. Its always the same pitch... Too polished i think. I dont know, maybe its because i just find Rachel annoying. The highlights of the episode were in my opinion learning more about Britney's background and more of her ever-so-funny one liners. I really hope we get to see her shine in future episodes, because she is now my favorite character on the show (Next to Sue of course)
